MEET DANA RAY
I am a language strategist for unboxable leaders—the brilliant and spirited humans who lead us into deeper humanity and create with the highest level of mastery. They represent diverse fields including global health, fashion, design, dance, art, photography, theater, and activism.
I facilitate workshops and keynotes on power of precise language and expansive storytelling. From curating the Creative Economy Track at DC Startup Week to original literary events, I design and lead experiences that set the stage to engage new thought and new speech.
I was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Bulgaria and hold a Master's in Literature and Creative Writing from Bucknell University. I continue to work internationally.
I write NAMING BLUE, a newsletter exploring the power, potential, and pitfalls of language. My work has appeared in publications such as The Curator, Comment, and Ruminate.
I can be found most days with a cup of tea and the latest book I really must tell you about.
Keynote: CreativeMornings DC
How do we find a name that doesn't confine us but expands our possibility?
Dana Ray believes that words are action: that what we say is what we do. In her CreativeMornings/DC Talk, Dana Ray teaches us how to name our purpose, in all its specificity. When we can name what makes us feel most alive, Ray explains, that gives us our chance to be known and guided towards the changes we want to make in the world.
